'67 Mustang GT500M by VectorJones '67 Mustang GT500M by VectorJones
Remember...when Nicolas Cage was trying to steal this car and the cops were chasing him and stuff was exploding and he jumped the cars on the bridge to get away?

Huh huh, that was awesome......

Please note: I use a lot of pics found off the web as models for these Illustrations. If you pic happens to be one I have used, please send me a message and I will give you the credit due.

Hey, you like looking the exact same stuff on different sites? Great! Check out my Tumblr and Behance pages.

yeah, i was looking at that earlier. nice work. you've captured it with an artistic touch which i like. i tend to go for photo realism, which takes some of the art out of it sometimes.

Yeah, those are his investments for his kids. His son Is a good friend of mine, and the reason why I say he is my friend is because he used to go out with my mom and he is just an all around cool guy to hang out with. He is more of a kid than adult :P.

Well he'd have to be with all those Mustangs around. I'd be like a kid in a candy store there.

Good for you. We should all hang on to our childhood as much as possible. Growing up is boring. Mature just enough to keep your check book balanced, your floor vacuumed, and your hygiene maintained. Then you can spend the rest of your life watching cartoons and eating Captain Crunch in between board meetings.

Very nice - my only nit-pick would be the headlight. Needs more sharp edged, reflection definition. Kinda like the central driving lamps you have done.

It seems like you should be able to see the passenger side wheel but I dunno, maybe not. I love the red reflected into the paint from the ground. The front tire isn't quite as fantastic as the rest of the car but other than that, I've got nothin to comment on. You have some nice stuff.

I agree this is trully a remarkable piece. Like you the tires absence is missed other than it's a refreshing piece. there isn't to many good vector work here.

it wasn't in the source pic, so i didn't bother making the passenger side wheel.

yeah, that front tire was a bitch. i must have done 20 revisions, but it just wouldn't behave. damn rebellious vectors.

that's fair. You do get the impression that the front end is kinda flying though. Maybe if the shadow under the car was as long as the car it wouldn't look so empty under there I dunno. The car itself is excellent though. There is a unique look about it that I can't really put my finger on ... your style. Are you using Illustrator?

yeah, it's kind of a peculiar source pic. it looks like they lit the car from 50 different angles, so there are a lot of weird highlights and shadows all over the car, which is one of the reasons i chose to Illustrate this pic (yeah, i use Illustrator). this does create some problems, as you have pointed out. for instance, the background, toward the front of the car, kind of fades off into darkness as you can see, but at the back of the car there is a very abrupt shift from the red floor to what I am assuming was a black backdrop. it's a very strange kind of layout.

as far as the front end, you have to take into account that bumper. it doesn't show in the pic so much, but they attach a streamlined bumper to this model car that sticks way the hell out from under the grill, and that's what was blocking the passenger tire from view.

but my thing is to replicate the source as closely as possible, so rather than changing all this weird stuff, i just made it as it was.
